by Marj Franke

Part 3

crone05.jpg (3684 bytes) The Head. This is where the fun begins. Make the basic shape of a head. Remember to form strong brow ridges and don't be shy about the size of the nose.
crone06.jpg (4129 bytes) Cheeks are added separately to create an eye socket and to give more contour to the face. It looks quite exaggerated when you first add the cheek pads, but - as you smooth them in - you'll see the face start to take on some character.
crone07.jpg (5198 bytes) Add eyeballs formed of black Super Sculpey (and prebaked). Be sure to make a generous size eye. it brings the figure to life. Cut a mouth being careful not to cut her cheeks. Ears may be pinched out now or covered with hair later.
crone08.jpg (5559 bytes) Teeth can be created with white Sculpey. Make a thin band of Sculpey scored to look like 4 teeth. Make the teeth a little taller than you think they should be so after they are baked you can insert them into her gums. I have also added thin strips above and below her eyes (eyelids and bags below the eyes).
