Carli arrived pretty much on time. Doctor Cherry projected she was due on November 25, the day we celebrated American Thanksgiving. Just to show she would come in her own time, Carli waited until the following Sunday to start her mom's contractions. Heather went into the Family Birth Center at Merle West Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon at 2.30am Monday morning. Heather dilated from 3cm to 9cm between that time and 12.30pm that day. Then Carli decided she'd had enough and it was time to rock and roll. Once Heather started pushing, it took Carli only ten minutes to traverse the birth canal into our world. She came out with wise eyes, very thoughtful about her surroundings and gently quiet. I was fortunate enough to be asked to share the birthing experience along with Heather's sister and their mother. Of course, Patrick was there, too.
I took lotsa pictures and miniature mpeg movies of our girls and everyone involved. It is plain as day she's stolen her daddy's heart and Patrick is smitten with her. She has also stolen everyone's heart in both families. She is the youngest grandchild and the only girl on both sides. She's going to be spoiled rotten.
